Hi Pat
Man, you are really going places and I am sure happy for you. I've been hiding out here in Northwest Montana on 10 acres of land for the past 7 years and I really don't miss the Valley. I do think about your band and Bobby and those wild days. I guess Esters kicking you in the butt all those times helped out in the long run eh? I think of her a lot and I sure miss that old "Bitch". Ha Ha
You take care and keep up the good work.
Terry

Hi Pat,

I probably should have done this a while ago, but I was moved to do so after going to hear you play (for about the umpteenth time in the rain) Friday night, and reading an interview you recently did.

I was the guy who once walked up to you and asked if you and the band could play some Desert Rose Band tunes. Sadly you couldn't, but you were nice enough to have "One Step Forward" on during your intermission.

I'm a good friend of Chris Hillman's (in fact I did Chris' online bio) - and I'm also friends with Steve Young, who as you might know wrote the original "Lonesome On'ry and Mean" for Waylon.
So, hearing you play it is a treat for me.

I met Waylon many years ago when I was doing Country Charts at CASHBOX magazine in L.A. He was so kind and unassuming to me. In fact he spoke with me for about 15 minutes straight - I remember these things. You mentioned Waylon coming up to see and play with you in that interview, and that it was the last time he played. That was interesting, because another one of your Country heroes is Buck Owens, and Buck came out to introduce Chris and Herb Pedersen at the Crystal Palace on what was probably his last public appearance.

I've never introduced myself to Danny, probably should. I'm also friends with JayDee Maness, so I know great steel when I hear it. You've definitely got one of the best players there.

I had friends in from L.A. last week - Julie is Rex Allen's niece, and she told me afterwards how much she enjoy going to the BC - the food was excellent and so was your music!

Well, I just wanted to compliment you and the band - I enjoy my visits to the Buffalo Chip, and while I can't make it there every week, I'll be there whenever I can.

Sincerely,

Alan Rockman
